After 3 months of maternity leave, this week Jennifer returned to work full time and Alex, our new Nanny, started keeping Ellie during the day. For the past week and a half we have been trying to teach Ellie how to take a bottle but she has simply refused. Yesterday Alex brought Ellie to Jenn's work so she could nurse and again this afternoon. Jenn had to close the store tonight and I was fully expecting to bring Ellie down for an evening feeding if she would not take a bottle. After 10 minutes of "arguing" with me and spitting out the nipple, Ellie finally came around and started getting after the bottle. She slugged and slugged until it was completely drained. I was so happy I immediately called Jennifer and Alex to share the good news.
About an hour later she took a second bottle and fell asleep.
